WAL collaborates with others to form the Clean Up Tonga Committee

WAL supports many organisations in their efforts cleaning up Tonga. However, at times there has been limited planning and coordination amongst the many groups interested in a cleaner Tonga. In October 2013, the Clean Up Tonga Committee (CUT) was formed to improve communication and coordination. Key members are from WAL, the Tonga Tourist Authority, Ministry of Health, Environment Section of Ministry of Lands, Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources, and the Rotary Club of Nuku’alofa. The group is meeting regularly to coordinate activities, and strengthen efforts for a cleaner Tonga. The group will also seek funding to provide material support to people undertaking clean up work. Please contact Talita at WAL with any clean up programs. We may be able to help with the supply of bags and gloves, or consider other requests.
